We are still entering Nesika lodge via roads only per Strict Forest Service permit rules. The gate just past the 10 mile marker on Larch MTN Road on the left side will be open at 9:00AM on Friday morning and Sat. morning. We will be opening the gate again on Sat. evening and Sunday around 1:00 PM to exit. We leave at 6 pm and hike until about 8 pm in Forest Park and the West Hills. Parking is limited; arrive early to find a spot, sign in and pay the hike fee before 6 pm. Carry water and a flashlight or headlamp. Cost: Free for dues paying Trails Club members; $2 for non-members. We will start at Top Spur Trail Head and head counter clock wise. This will allow us to have a nice lunch or dinner at Timberline Lodge 1/2 way around the mountain and buy some goodies for our meals. We will hike from Timberline Lodge to Paradise Park on the west side of Mount Hood via the Timberline Trail/PCT. Mileage in will be 5 and ½ miles with about 1200 feet of elevation gain. Paradise Park should afford good day hiking in the meadows above the Timberline Trail after setting up camp to spend one night.
