Morning Hike – Class A/B

We leave at 6 pm and hike until about 8 pm in Forest Park and the West Hills. Parking is limited; arrive early to find a spot, sign in and pay the hike fee before 6 pm. Carry water and a flashlight or headlamp. Cost: Free for dues paying Trails Club members; $2 for non-members. Elk Meadows Backpack Class A

We’ll hike approximately 3.5 miles with 1200 feet of elevation gain to Elk Meadows on the east side of Mount Hood. Return mileage out will be the same in reverse. This area has great views of the east side of Mount Hood. We’ll find a good spot to set up camp close to the Meadows, leaving time for a day hike up to Gnarl Ridge and Lamberson Butte, about two and one half miles and 800 feet away. Crossing over…

Tour de Westside Ride - Class BWe will ride a 22 mile loop with about 1200ft CEG. through the westside bergs of Beaverton, Tigard, Tuallatin and Sherwood. Some of the ride will be on multi-use paths and some on roads. Driving distance from Pioneer Square to the starting point is about 12 miles/25 mins. Bring plenty of water and snacks. Indian Heaven Exploratory Backpack Class B

We’ll explore the Indian Heaven Wilderness, with its many lakes in the Washington South Cascades. Our trail head will be at the Cultus Creek Campground, and when we enter the wilderness we will multiple options at to where to explore and camp. Area is known for its lakes and also for mosquitoes, but hopefully by going in September most bugs will be gone.
